If you were ever skeptical of the demand for memory products in this day and age, you can put that skepticism to rest as Samsung is now expected to sell out of its entire 2027 memory supply soon. At a time when the supply for RAM is at historic lows, Samsung reportedly can’t keep enough of its memory products in stock. It likely isn’t the only memory manufacturer facing these types of situations, either.

With more and more demand from AI data centers, on top of the demand from consumers, companies like Samsung are sitting no piles of cash thanks to all the memory that’s flying out the door. All of this supply, mind you, is being sold at a premium because the demand is high and the supply is low. Yet, companies are still buying it because it’s needed.

With demand staying high, Samsung may run out of its 2027 memory supply

It’s not mentioned when Samsung is expected to sell through this stock, but KB Securities analyst Jeff Kim believes it will be sometime soon. Demand for Samsung’s memory, and the supply from other companies, remains high and companies who use those components are continuing to offer multi-year deals to ensure they have stock.

For Samsung, as well as companies like SK Hynix, another major memory manufacturer, business is good. Memory isn’t the only PC component that manufacturers can’t keep in stock, either. Western Digital reported back in February that it already sold through its entire stock of hard drives for 2026.

What’s more is at Kim believes this low supply for memory and storage components will last for years. That mimics the belief of other analysts, which think the RAM shortage could continue until at least 2030. Thereby pushing back launch windows for certain products, and keeping prices high for memory and storage both at the consumer and business level. That being said, SK Hynix is expected to announce a plan soon that will attempt to stabilize RAM prices.
