Facebook Marketplace AI Can Now Reply to Buyers' Messages So You Don't Have To
Selling something online isn’t as easy as just posting and expecting buyers to come flocking. You need to think about how you want to frame your sale, describe the item, and so on. Then there’s also the issue of dealing with inquiries with no promise that it will end in a sale. However, Meta is making that easier by bringing AI to Facebook Marketplace to help you deal with messages and more.
Facebook Marketplace will use AI to help reply to messages
Now, a lot of times whenever you sell something online, you are dealing with questions like, “Is the item still available?” It can get annoying real fast, especially when the buyers don’t bother to follow up. But this is where the AI comes in handy, as it can now reply to Facebook Marketplace messages for you.
According to Meta, “Responding to buyer inquiries is now effortless with AI auto replies. When buyers ask about item availability, you can use Meta AI to draft and send an auto reply using information from your listing, like a description, availability, pickup location, and price. You can enable, preview, and edit these auto replies during listing creation, making communication faster and more reliable.”
But that’s not all
In addition to supporting sending messages, Meta is using AI to help boost Facebook Marketplace. This includes helping users list items faster. All users need to do is upload images of their items, and Meta’s AI will do the rest. The list of tasks that it can handle includes creating a draft listing, filling in details, and even suggesting pricing. The AI won’t post it automatically for you, but it’ll fill out all the details before you do so.
Then, there is the shipping experience. According to Meta, sellers can now offer shipping on their listings. Sellers can generate shipping labels with a few clicks. They can also use the dashboard to track their shipped orders. Last but not least, Meta wants to use AI to help users summarize their profiles.
If you want to create a more professional-sounding Marketplace profile but don’t know how, then this feature comes in handy. The summaries can tell buyers how long you’ve had your account, which is great for trust. It can also tell buyers what kind of items you sell, how many items you’ve listed and sold, and so on.
