Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold is so popular it keeps selling out in minutes

“Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold sells out in minutes” is likely something you’ve seen or heard before, and that’s because this isn’t the first time this has happened with Samsung’s newest foldable phone. When the phone initially launched in South Korea back in December of 2025, it only took a few minutes for Samsung to run out of stock.

When it launched in the US, it was reported that the stock was gone within about 20 minutes of the phone going live on the site. Now, it seems that it was much quicker than that. Showcasing that Samsung’s latest foldable is a lot more popular than Samsung probably expected it to be.

Granted, it’s worth noting that Samsung is also doing this phone in limited numbers. Unlike its Galaxy S, Galaxy Z Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip lines, Samsung isn’t producing millions of these. That surely makes it a lot easier to run out of stock.

Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold reportedly sells out in 5 minutes

According to a recent report from Chosun Daily (via SamMobile), Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold actually sold out in less than 5 minutes in the US following its January 30 launch. That’s much faster than initially believed. It’s also a potential indicator that Samsung may need to start thinking about producing more than it had planned for the US market. Not to mention other markets where the phone is being sold.

The Galaxy Z TriFold’s uncanny popularity has come about regardless of the price. At nearly $3,000, you would think consumers would be turned off from it. That couldn’t be further from the truth. People seem just as willing to spend $2,899.99 on a brand-new smartphone as they are to spend $1,599.99 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is one of 2025’s Best Android Phones.

Despite Samsung‘s phone being so popular, this doesn’t mean Samsung will ever change its plan to produce it in limited numbers. The Galaxy Z TriFold is likely expensive to produce. So, it would make the most sense to limit how many are made. That’s saying nothing of the time it also probably takes to manufacture. The price increase on components probably isn’t doing Samsung any favors, either.
