Samsung Galaxy A55 & A34 Get January 2026 Security Update with 55 Fixes
A fresh month just started, and Samsung is here with its monthly security updates. Like every time, the brand first offered it to its current flagship line, the Galaxy S25 series, as a part of the One UI 8.5 Beta 3 update. Now, the South Korean giant is pushing the January 2026 update to its mid-rangers, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A34.

The January 2026 security update to the Galaxy A55 carries firmware version A556SKSS6CYL2. While the Galaxy A34 carries firmware version A34NKSSCEYL2 and reportedly weighs around 320MB in size. The latest security patch reportedly fixes a total of 55 security issues. Currently, the update seems to be live only in its home soil, South Korea. But we can expect it to roll out in other regions over the coming days.
While we’re on the subject of updates, the Galaxy A55 and the Galaxy A34 are eligible to receive the One UI 8.5 update. This will be the next major OS upgrade from Samsung and will be based on the Android 16 QPR2 release. Currently, the beta version is only available for the Galaxy S25 series.

The phones are eligible for the One UI 8.5 update
The stable build of One UI 8.5 will be out with the Galaxy S26 series, which will launch in February 2026, i.e., next month. Shortly after that, the One UI 8.5 will expand to all eligible phones and tablets, starting with the flagship models first. We’ll be there to inform you when that happens.
