Samsung isn’t the only company making significant changes to its flagship phone lineup. Apple will reportedly do so first with its upcoming iPhones, replacing the “Plus” model with an ultra-thin “Air.” Now, a fresh report has offered a glimpse into the battery capacity of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, including some images showing a cell in a metal case.

A leaker known as Majin Bu has shared images of an alleged battery pack for this new model, expected to launch in September 2025, revealing some key design choices and potential implications for daily use. Thus, the ultra-thin profile will require a notable compromise in terms of battery capacity.

According to the report, the iPhone 17 Air will have a battery of around 2,900 mAh. This figure points to a deliberate decision by Apple to prioritize a thinner phone, aligning with the “Air” aesthetic. To put it simply, less space inside means a smaller cell. This capacity could make the iPhone 17 Air’s battery life potentially the shortest among iPhone models since the iPhone 13 series.
