It's easy to feel like Android — and, really, the entire smartphone business — is stuck in a rut. Year in and year out, we see sequels to the same devices as before, usually (though not always) with just enough changes to feel worthy of an upgrade. It's a far cry from the earliest days of Android, where practically every smartphone came with an entirely new design, an overhauled camera system, and reimagined software. Even jumps from the Galaxy S4 to the Galaxy S5 felt like entirely new product lines.
