Apple recently announced its first generation-mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro. During its initial days, the overall sales and demand for the device were on the higher side. The increasing hype of the product on the internet made the brand believe that the device would sell like a hotcake. But if we go according to the latest report, the market demand for Apple Vision Pro has fallen significantly; forcing the brand to cut down the production by as much as half.

Apple Vision Pro is not performing well in the market

As mentioned earlier, Apple expected the product to sell well in the market. But unfortunately, it’s not happening. There could be multiple reasons behind why the users are losing interest in the product. The Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple is expecting to ship around 4,00,000 to 4,50,000 units of the Vision Pro this year.

If we look at the initial shipment figures, the brand was targeting as many as 7,00,000 to 8,00,000 units to sell and ship in the market. The firm was forced to cut the overall shipments by more than 40-50% due to the downward performing graph of user’s interest in the Apple Vision Pro.

Reasons behind declining demand for Apple Vision Pro

Mark Gurman recently highlighted the declining demand for Apple Vision Pro. There are for sure numerous reasons behind this. However, the one major reason for the downward trajectory of the demand could be the higher price tag. The Vision Pro carries a whopping price tag of $3,499, making it one of the most expensive Apple products. There’s a very small percentage of people who can afford to pay this much for a headset. Moreover, another reason could be that the audience does not get interested in the MR headset very easily.

If we look further, we also highlight issues such as the inconvenience of using the Vision Pro compared to traditional laptops or smartphones, the need for an external battery attachment and its not very good backup, the VisionOS interface, and users experiencing headaches. Some users were also returning their Vision Pro due to these issues. The downward falling graph has cautioned the brand and they are working on the future roadmaps for the product and its sales.
