Samsung took its Frame TV to Union Art Fair to exhibit artworks

Samsung‘s The Frame TV is a rather unique product. As the company says, it is a TV when it’s on and art when it’s off. And whether you use it as a TV or art, you get excellent picture quality that you don’t get on most standard high-definition televisions. Samsung showcased The Frame TV’s capabilities to visitors at the recently-concluded Union Art Fair 2022.
Samsung promotes The Frame TV at Union Art Fair
Union Art Fair is an annual art exhibition and marketplace that aims to “discover new artists and develop the cultural art market,” Samsung explains, calling it a festival for contemporary artists. The seventh edition of the fair was held at the Seoul Auction Gangnam Center in Seoul, South Korea between December 29, 2022, and January 2, 2023. The exhibition featured around 350 artworks by 50 domestic and international artists. It was a perfect occasion for Samsung to showcase The Frame TV and the company didn’t miss it.
Samsung installed four The Frame TV units at Union Art Fair 2022 to showcase the works of artists Hyunwoo Kim, Yona Jeong, Hyunseon Cho, and Bori Heo in digital forms. Since this product is specifically designed to resemble a photo frame, it serves the purpose excellently. It offers customizable bezels and comes ultra-thin, allowing it to hang flush with the wall. The TV’s matte finish display also enables comfortable viewing angles with less light reflection, like an original work of art.
“The Frame continues to expand partnerships, providing special experiences to consumers and contributing to the popularization of the global art market,” said Kim Chul -ki, Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display business in an official press release [Google translated from Korean]. “We will try to create an environment where we can grow together.”
The Frame TV comes in multiple sizes
Samsung launched The Frame TV in 2017. It comes in multiple sizes ranging from 32 inches to 85 inches. Except for the smallest version, all others offer a QLED 4K display. The entire lineup runs on the company’s in-house Tizen OS platform and boasts quantum HDR support. You also get 100 percent color volume, a 120Hz refresh rate (some newer models are limited to a 60Hz refresh rate), and micro dimming.
All of this ensures an excellent viewing experience with an expansive range of color and contrast. On top of this, The Frame TV comes with built-in Alexa, Bixby, Google Assistant, Samsung Health, Samsung TV+, and SmartThings. It also has access to all major streaming platforms, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Apple TV+.
